FAQs

What is the safest way to put on a tight-fitting latex top or vest?

Lubricate the shoulders and chest heavily. Since tops must pass over the widest part of your torso, apply plenty of silicone dressing aid to your shoulders and the inside of the garment. Slide your arms in first, then gently "roll" or shimmy the material over your head. Avoid pulling from the neck edge or using your nails, as this can cause a sudden tear.

Does chest hair make it harder to wear latex tops and vests?

Yes, it increases friction and pulling. Body hair grips the latex, making it difficult to position the garment and potentially causing pain during movement. For a "muscle-fit" look, many men shave or trim their chest and back. If you don't shave, you must use extra silicone lube to create a slick barrier so the latex can glide over the hair.

How do I prevent the armpits of my latex top from deteriorating?

Immediate washing after every use. The armpits are the highest sweat zone. Sweat and deodorants contain oils and salts that rapidly weaken and rot latex. Always wash the top immediately after wearing with a mild latex soap. Avoid using oil-based deodorants when wearing latex, as they can cause the material to become sticky and permanently damaged.

How should I store a latex vest or shirt to maintain its structure?

Store flat or on a wide, padded hanger. To avoid stretching the shoulder seams, use a wide, non-metal padded hanger and store it inside an opaque garment bag. If storing multiple items, place acid-free tissue paper between them to prevent colors from migrating and surfaces from sticking together. Keep in a cool, dark place.
