Silicone-based Dressing Aid (Lube). Lubrication is mandatory. The lube drastically reduces friction, allows the material to glide smoothly over curves, and is crucial for preventing seam stress and tearing, especially over the bust, hips, and shoulders where maximum stretching occurs.
Wear soft cotton gloves and use the pad of your fingers. This is the number one cause of damage. Always wear soft cotton gloves when dressing or use only the flat, soft pad of your fingers (not the nails) and the palm to gently pull and adjust the garment, avoiding any pulling on the thin edges or seams.
Immediate, thorough rinsing and a complete dry before storage. Hand wash immediately after wear in lukewarm water using a mild, unfragranced soap or latex cleaner. The item must be completely rinsed to remove all traces of body oils, sweat, and cleaner residue, and then 100% dried (inside and out) before being put away.
Avoid Light, Oil, and Metal Contact. Store latex items powdered or polished and completely dry in individual, opaque garment bags or boxes. Keep them away from direct sunlight (UV), heat, oil-based products (including certain lotions and perfumes), and any metal hardware that can cause irreversible staining.
