FAQs

Which areas require the most dressing aid when putting on a tight latex top?

The shoulders, bust, and neck/arm openings. These points experience the most tension. You must apply a generous amount of silicone dressing aid (lube) or talcum powder to the entire interior. This allows the top to slide over your head and chest without overstretching the material or causing painful skin friction.

How can I prevent my fingernails from tearing the top, especially around the thin edges?

Wear soft cotton gloves and use the pads of your fingers. Latex tops, especially light-weight ones, are very prone to "nail stabs." Always wear soft cotton gloves when dressing, or use only the flat pads of your fingers to gently pull the material. Never use your nails to "pinch" and pull the edges or sleeves.

For tops with built-in cups or underwires, what special care is needed?

Handle with extra care and store flat. Structured tops with underwires or molded cups have high-stress points where the wire meets the latex. Do not fold or crush these areas. When storing, it is best to lay the top flat in an opaque box or hang it on a wide, padded hanger to maintain the cup shape and prevent the wires from piercing the material.

How should I handle zippers or snaps on the back or neck of the top?

Lubricate zippers and isolate metal hardware. Use silicone oil on zippers to ensure they glide smoothly without snagging the latex. For metal snaps or buttons, ensure they are wrapped in acid-free tissue paper during storage. Metal contact causes permanent black stains, which are particularly visible on light-colored or thin tops.
